Purported press images of Sony’s (SNE) upcoming Xperia Tablet were published on Thursday by an XDA-Developers forum member. The images indicate that Sony has abandoned the wedge shape that was found in the company’s Tablet S, in favor of a sleeker and thinner design. According to earlier reports, the Xperia Tablet will feature a quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 6,000 mAh battery that will supply roughly 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing. The tablet will reportedly be offered for $399.99 for the 16GB model, $499.99 for the 32GB model and $599.99 for the 64GB mode. It is speculated that Sony will announce the Xperia Tablet during the IFA trade show in Berlin on August 31st ahead of a September release. Two additional images follow below.
