After an extended stay on the “back order” list, the Amazon Kindle has returned to the virtual stock shelves at Amazon.com. The company’s revolutionary E-Book reader has been notoriously hard to get ahold of since it was launched, with Jeff Bezos issuing a personal apology to those that have been waiting so patiently for their Kindle to ship. The same letter promised newly replenished stock in the very near future. The future, it would appear, is now. The device still hasn’t gotten any cheaper, and the feature set is still the same (backlight, anyone?), but if you’ve got an extra $399 burning a hole in your pocket, Amazon is currently offering free 2-day shipping for anyone that cares to take the plunge.
