We know, we know. Hold your tears, European folks. The world will go on, albeit without that small part of your heart that medical professionals call “Zune.” Steve Ballmer has announced that Microsoft will not be selling the Zune East of the Atlantic this year as previously planned. Citing the fact that they are still losing money on each player they sell here in the states, Ballmer gave no new time line for the DAP’s European debut. We suppose that this makes sense, as expanding a questionable product line is a pretty stupid move, yet you’ve got to wonder if Microsoft shouldn’t be questioning the Zune in general. Perhaps tossing in the towel now and burying the Zune into obscurity would do wonders to save the company’s ego and profit margin.
