Yelp, “an online urban city guide that helps people find cool places to eat, shop, drink, relax and play,” announced that is has partnered with online restaurant reservation company OpenTable to provide added functionality to its website. The new alliance will allow registered Yelp users to make restaurant reservations directly from within Yelp.com. According to the NY Times, the reservation feature will, “begin in North America and will cover about 11,000 restaurants,” and that the feature “could come to international restaurants at a later date.” No details were given about when/if the company plans to integrate the OpenTable reservation feature into its Yelp mobile applications.
