If you make a typo at your job, you might cause some confusion. When the Windows Driver Kit team makes a typo in an e-mail, it causes the whole industry to buzz. At least, that’s what Microsoft is claiming happened when it stated that “This WDK beta release to Connect coincides with the recent OS beta release for Vista SP1 Preview.” What it really meant to say was that it was for Windows Server 2008, as a retraction e-mail clearly stated. Whoops. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like SP1 for Vista is going to be released anytime soon, and definitely not this month as previously rumored. We’ll just have to enjoy our bogged-down-bad-resource-management madness for a while longer.
