Motorola is once again at the center of a patent infringement lawsuit brought on by the world’s largest patent troll. Intellectual Ventures, which FOSS Patents described as “the world’s largest non-practicing entity,” on Wednesday sued Motorola in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida for allegedly infringing seven of its patents. The company previously sued Motorola for supposedly infringing six patents in 2011. Intellectual Ventures has licensing agreements in place with a number of smartphone vendors, including Samsung, HTC and BlackBerry. In a statement to AllThingsD, a Google spokesperson reiterated the company’s stance on patent trolls, noting that it supports “bipartisan efforts by the White House and Congress to end these kinds of abuses.”
