Tech industry leaders Apple and Google have fallen off of YouGov’s BrandIndex top-10 “Buzz Rankings” list in the U.S., which rates the top companies in America by brand perception. The firm recently published its mid-2013 rankings and found that Ford jumped from No.6 in 2012 to the top spot with a score of 31, while Amazon is now ranked second among all brands in the U.S. with a score of 29.9. In fact, the only other technology brands to place in the top-10 were YouTube at No.8 and Amazon’s Kindle brand, which came in at No.9 with a score of 23.7. Kindle’s ranking may improve further as Amazon gets ready to unveil three new Kindle Fire tablets later this year, according to a recent exclusive report from BGR. Also of note, BlackBerry ranked higher than it has in two years with a score of 5.3. While it didn’t come close to ranking in the top-10, this is at least a good sign that the company’s marketing efforts are paying off in some ways.

YouGov ranks companies based on the results of questionnaires given to 5,000 people each day in the U.S.
