It is that time of year when students are about to head back to school, and what better way then to start off with a brand new Apple laptop and free iPod Nano? Today Apple increased the specs of the MacBook Pro laptop. The processor bump went from 2.16GHz & 2.33GHz to 2.2GHz & 2.4GHz. The video card has been refreshed to a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT up to 256 MB with the new mercury-free, power-efficient LED-backlit displays. The 17″ MacBook Pro has the option to increase the screen size to 1900×1200 pixels, which is 30% more pixels then the standard model. The wireless option has officially been upgraded to the new 802.11n standard. The new MacBook Pros start at $1799 for students and $1999 for non-students.
On top of all of those improvements, with most Apple computer purchases as a student you get a $200 mail in rebate. Just enough for a new 4 GB iPod nano, or enough to bring the price of the iPods with video as cheap as $50 after rebate.
