You see, not only is the HTC Magic going to make its debut next month at no cost to most subscribers, but now Nokia’s upcoming flagship N97 will be hitting Vodafone this July as well. 3.5″ touchscreen display, sliding full-QWERTY keypad, 5 megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, 32GB of internal memory, 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, S60 5th Edition — all subsidized from a carrier. The one thing that gives us solace is knowing that our $700+ N97s will be clean as a whistle while our friends across the pond will be sporting handsets with the Vodafone logo plastered all over them. That makes up for it, right?
