Sony Ericsson Xperia X2 "Vulcan" smiles for the camera

New spy shots of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X2, codenamed “Vulcan”, have emerged from the forums over at fanklub.se. The successor to the current X1 is looking dapper in its black casing, black keyboard and silver bezel. On the back, the Windows Mobile handset sports an 8 megapixel camera with flash. What you see is what we know as no other details about this phone have been leaked. If it follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, we should see it launch sometime in 2011.

Images of the Android-powered HTC Hero emerge

Courtesy of the folks at Code Android Singapore, we now have our first live images of the rumored Android-based HTC Hero. Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief as the phone, first pictured in glorious hot pink, is shown with a typical black matte finish. The handset resembles a shoehorn the HTC Magic sans trackball and has a chin that would make even Jay Leno proud. One of the images also reveals the presence of a rather large round hole suggesting the presence of a 3.5mm headphone jack. Woo! With HTC’s track record of leaks, additional information on the Hero should be forthcoming soon. Hit the jump for a few more snapshots of this interesting looking handset.

Verizon Wireless HTC Touch Diamond gets pictured

By on March 7, 2009 at 12:52 AM.

Verizon Wireless HTC Touch Diamond gets pictured

We got our hands on some pictures of a test model of the Verizon Wireless Touch Diamond rocking its sleek, black and shiny casing. Unlike Verizon’s Touch Pro, the Diamond has retained the characteristic faceted back. The Verizon version of the Touch Diamond has the following specs:

  • CPU: Qualcomm 7500A
  • Speed: 528 MHz
  • RAM size: 128MB
  • Flash size: 256MB
  • Display resolution: 480×640
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus

Looks like Big Red did indeed knock the memory down to 128/256MB but kept the processor speed at 528MHz and not 400MHz as was previously rumored. A microSD card slot is under the battery as a consolation for the drop in memory.  For those that must know, the Touch Diamond also has an accelerometer and comes with HTC’s tilting” game “Teeter”.  Aww, how nice! Hit the jump for a few more shots of the long awaited Verizon Wireless Touch Diamond.

Thanks, JM!

LG Incite

After making its debut online a few days ago, the Incite is making its way into AT&T stores. We must say this phone looks a lot better in real life than in stock photos. As of now there is still no solid release date but we do have some pricing for you: $199.99 after a $100 MIR with a 2-year contract, $449.99 with no commitment. Blackberry Storm to hit Best Buy November 23rd

By on November 16, 2008 at 1:36 PM.

Blackberry Storm to hit Best Buy November 23rd

We just want to warn all you Sunday newspaper readers out there: Don’t be alarmed when you flip to the Best Buy ad and see the Storm front and center on the Best Buy Mobile page for this Sunday. Yup, there it is in all its glory, supposedly available for sale today. It is even listed with a free Plantronics 360 bluetooth headset. Don’t go running down to Best Buy just yet though. It wont be there as these fliers were printed before the latest delay that pushed the Storm launch to November 23rd for Best Buy. A small disclaimer on its website confirms the new release date. So anyone who doesn’t want to brave the crowds at Verizon stores on release day can head on down to your local Best Buy one week from today and score yourself a Storm. Start robbing those piggy banks though, as the Storm without a contract as purchased from Best Buy will set you back a cool $599. Hit the jump to see the full Best Buy advertisement in this Sunday’s flier and the pricing page.

[Thanks, Brian!]

Spy shot of the Verizon Samsung i770

By on October 8, 2008 at 10:54 AM.

Spy shot of the Verizon Samsung i770

i770

A spy shot of the Samsung i770 next to its predecessor, the i760, emerged on Tuesday courtesy of Howard Forums member TK093. The upcoming i770 is longer and a lot slimmer than the i760. The i770 maintains its slim profile by shedding the slide out keyboard of the i760 in favor of a full front Qwerty keyboard. The front of the phone is dominated visually by a giant silver ring that encircles an optical touchpad. Similar to the i780, the optical touchpad can be used to control the onscreen cursor. Confused by the idea of a touchpad on a touchscreen device? Don’t worry, there is a toggle switch on the side of the phone that allows you to switch from this unique virtual mouse mode to regular D-Pad mode. According to TK093, the i770 still has the top power button that is used to wake up the phone. Ugh, a minor annoyance but at least there is a system setting that allows you to switch between “wake up with the power button” or “wake up with any button”. No release date or pricing has been announced. We can only hope the release is soon as the aging i760 really needs a replacement and Verizon desperately needs some fresh, new Windows Mobile Professional phones, even this mediocre offering, in its lineup. Hit the jump for a snapshot of the ultra-slim side profile of the i770.
