Samsung (005930) will very likely announce its Galaxy S IV smartphone in the coming months. And according to SamMobile, the company may also be working on a “mini” handset alongside its upcoming flagship device. Samsung previously debuted a scaled-down version of its Galaxy S III smartphone, known as the Galaxy S III mini, in Europe. The mid-range device has sold relatively well and gave Samsung a unified brand throughout the smartphone market. The Galaxy S IV mini will probably be less powerful than its bigger brother and may not include features such as wireless charging, although it will also be offered at a lower price.
SamMobile also reported that Samsung could be working on a device that will be compatible with an arm band, bike mount, and pouch. It is speculated that it may be a Galaxy Watch device that would compete directly with Apple’s rumored iWatch.
Recent rumors have suggested that Samsung will announce the Galaxy S IV at a press event on March 15th. The device is expected to launch in Europe and Asia in April and around May or June in North America and Australia.
