Ignore for a second that someone would actually volunteer to be shocked on purpose. But hey…it’s science, right? Scientists from the UK took these volunteers and had them play a Pac-Man-type game in which a blue triangle (you) gets chased by a red dot (not you). As you make your way through the 2-D maze, when the red dot catches you, it delivers an electric shock. Meanwhile, scientists monitor your brain activity in an effort to see the brain’s reaction to fear. Too bad those wacky Brits don’t pay as well as those Jackass guys.
