Photographer Alexis Coram took a trip to Alaska earlier this year and ended up capturing one of the most impressive videos of the northern lights that we’ve seen. The northern lights occur when charged particles of the sun enter Earth’s atmosphere and can usually only be seen from the higher latitudes, which is why most of us never get to see them up close and in person. However, Coram’s video is so incredible that it might be the next-best thing.
“I headed to Alaska in February with the hope of catching a glimpse of the Northern Lights with mine,” Coram said in the video’s description. “That glimpse turned into an extravaganza…a party in the sky, and I was an onlooker, a face in the crowd…awestruck, mesmerized, feeling like the luckiest girl in the world.”
The video is embedded below and pictures from Coram’s trip can be seen on her website.
