What do we really know about Apple’s upcoming iWatch? Not too much at this point, unfortunately, because Apple has done an unusually good job of making sure no images of the device have been leaked out anywhere on the Internet. 9to5Mac flags what it describes as a “sketchy report” in China Times that claims Apple has tapped Taiwanese touch panel maker TPK to develop a curved, flexible display for its wearable device that will begin mass production in the second half of 2014.
9to5Mac says that although China Times has gotten some big stories wrong in the past, there’s nothing overly surprising about its latest report especially since “a flexible display would help address the challenge of making the iWatch fit different size wrists without looking clunky, and TPK has been a key panel supplier to Apple in the past.” We should get some more details on Apple’s plans for the iWatch when Apple announces iOS 8, which has been tipped to have a lot of features aimed at wearable devices.
