Apple rolled out the first iOS and iPadOS betas since the launch of the iPhone 14 on Tuesday, September 20. Both iOS 16.1 beta 2 and iPadOS 16.1 beta 3 dropped today, as Apple continues to stagger the beta releases between the iPhone and iPad due to the delay of iPadOS 16. These will be substantial updates that should fix some notable bugs.
What’s new in iOS 16.1 beta 2?
Apple made a number of small adjustments in beta 2, such as having the battery icon deplete as the battery drains, adding a Move to Shared Library button in Photos, and giving iPhone owners the ability to sign up for Fitness+ without an Apple Watch.
Which devices work with the new beta?
iOS 16.1 beta 2 is now available to developers, as is iPadOS 16.1 beta 3.

How to download and install iOS 16.1 beta 2
As you all know by now, installing the latest iOS or iPadOS beta on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch could not be easier. Just navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and then tap “Download and Install” at the bottom of that page.
If you want, you can also install the update through iTunes by connecting your iOS device to your computer. Whichever method you choose, just make sure to back up your device before installing the update. You can never be too careful!
