The Reese’s Cup hamburger is real – how did America not think of it first?

Today is a day of national shame, America. Why? Because Canada — you know, that country to the north of us that’s loaded with un-American clean air and socialized medicine — has beaten us at our own game. What am I talking about, you ask? I’m talking about Ontario-based fast food chain The Works coming out with a hamburger stuffed with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. This is the kind of utterly monstrous fast food that America has turned into an art form over the years and I can’t believe that one of our own chains — I’m looking at you, Arby’s — didn’t think of it first.

MORE FAST FOOD: Why is Burger King’s scary black whopper causing an outbreak of green poop?

Per Food and Wine, The Works’ menu claims that this beast is “stuff’d with Reese Peanut Butter Cups candy right inside our juicy beef patty and topped with crispy onion strings, two strips of smoked bacon and even more Reese Peanut Butter Cups candy!”

Did you get all that? They cook a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup inside the beef patty and then sprinkle even more Reese’s Cups on top. And then there are onion strings and bacon. Why not just smother it in Crisco while you’re at it, guys?

At any rate, congratulations are in order for Canada. We’ve underestimated you for years but you’re constructed a fast food meal that even puts the KFC Double Down Dog and the Taco Bell Chicken Biscuit Breakfast Taco to shame.
