In addition to detailing Apple’s purported iWatch launch plans – the company is expected to have two sizes for its smartwatch and three versions in total – Taiwanese publication Economic Daily News also said that the iPhone maker will launch three iPad versions this year, including a new 9.7-inch iPad Air, a new 7.9-inch iPad mini and a 12.9-inch iPad, also known as the iPad Pro in some reports.
The publication says that TPK will supply next-gen touch sensors for all new iPad and iWatch models released this year.
Previous reports have claimed that Apple is looking to increase the iPad’s display size this year and introduce an iPad Pro that may be a better fit for enterprise customers, although not all rumors agree. Some say Apple did consider making a 12.9-inch tablet, but has canned the project for the time being.
Purported leaked iPad Pro components have hit the web in the previous months, as Apple has been rumored to test different display sizes for next-generation iOS tablets, but they’re yet to be confirmed.
Apple is already rumored to unveil new iPhone 6 models at some point in September, and launch them later that month. It’s likely Apple’s 2014 iPads will be released in the months following the iPhone 6’s release, which is what Apple did with previous iPhone and iPad generations in past years.
