Apple released it first iOS 9.3 beta to developers on Monday and unlike other recent iOS 9 updates, it has some solid new user-facing features on board. Check out this post for the five best new features coming to the iPhone in iOS 9.3.

iOS’s new f.lux ripoff “Night Shift” has gotten the most attention following the release of iOS 9.3, and it’s a terrific addition to iOS so there’s certainly nothing wrong with that. With Night Shift enabled, iOS will automatically reduce the blue light emitted by a device’s display at night so that it’s easier on the eyes.

But there are other changes in iOS 9.3 that people should be just as excited about: The new 3D Touch shortcuts headed to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

If you’re one of the tens of millions of people who own an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus, you’re in for a real treat once Apple releases iOS 9.3 to the public. Or, you know, you could just install iOS 9.3 right now without a developer account.

3D Touch is the star feature in Apple’s latest handsets, and the company is adding a bunch of great new 3D Touch shortcuts to its phones in iOS 9.3. Here are the best ones, with images courtesy of 9to5Mac:

A firm press on the Settings icon will now pop open an action menu with four shortcuts, giving users quick access to the Wi-Fi menu, the Bluetooth menu, the wallpaper menu and the all-too-important battery menu. It would be nice to be able to configure these shortcuts, but there’s no question that the four items Apple chose are important.

In addition to search and redeem on the App Store’s Quick Actions menu, users can now install all available updates and view their purchased apps.

Did you even know that there was a level in the Compass app? Now you know, and you can access it immediately with a 3D Touch.

Here are three more nice additions from Apple:

Apple is expected to release iOS 9.3 to the public in the coming weeks.
