While iPhone is usually the first device many developers think when creating their apps, that doesn’t always happen. Such is the case with WhatsApp, a popular messaging app purchased by Facebook for a lot of money not too long ago, which is finally rolling out a feature many WhatsApp users might be anxiously waiting for – you know, the ones using iPhones, as the feature has been available on Android for months.

The new WhatsApp feature doesn’t really concern iOS or Android, as it’s the web version of the app that’s getting iPhone support, but it does need the latest WhatsApp version installed on either platform. The WhatsApp Web app lets you continue messaging from a computer after you have registered it under your WhatsApp account.

Since January, the WhatsApp Web app has been compatible with Android and other mobile operating systems, including Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10, but not with iOS.

To see if WhatsApp Web support has rolled out to your area, just go into WhatsApp’s Settings on the iPhone and look for WhatsApp Web in the list. If you don’t see it yet, that’s likely because it hasn’t rolled out to your region yet, but the web version of the service already lists iPhone support, which wasn’t the case before.

To use WhatsApp on a desktop, you’ll have to go to web.whatsapp.com and then scan a code with your iPhone using the WhatsApp phone on the iPhone.
