The person in the image above is not a professional working a 12.9-inch iPad Pro model with a stylus. And for that matter, Apple did not just leak the 13-inch iPad Pro on its website. The company “doesn’t leak unannounced products,” as iMore succinctly puts it. The image simply shows the lid assembly of a MacBook laptop, and was posted on Apple’s Supplier Responsibility webpage alongside various other images of employees working on existing Apple products. But the image apparently fooled many into believing the company may have inadvertently a rumored iPad model.
“All over the world, we’re expanding opportunities for workers and ensuring they’re treated with respect and dignity,” says a message overlay on top of the images, with Apple offering more details about its initiatives related to the suppliers’ work force that builds Apple devices on its website.
But what if the 13-inch iPad Pro really looked more like the lid display of a MacBook, making the transition between Apple’s iPad family and its MacBook line? The current iPad Pro concept images and videos that have been published around by enthusiastic Apple fans generally imagine the device as a bigger iPad model, with few of them imagining that the tablet might run OS X just like the MacBook laptops.
Reports disagree on whether the company will unveil an iPad Pro model this year, with some sources suggesting the tablet will hit stores by the end of the year and others expecting it only in early 2015.
