Without question, the upcoming Apple TV is the most exciting update to the product line we’ve seen to date. With a new Siri-enabled remote (which doubles as a game controller), a revamped interface featuring universal search, and a dedicated App Store, it’s not outlandish to think that the AppleTV might be a surprise consumer hit this holiday shopping season
If you’re not close to an Apple retail store, you can order one online via Best Buy and pick it up as early as November 4.
Pricing wise, a 32GB model of the Apple TV is available for $149 while the 64GB model is priced at $199.
As for the potential long-term impact of the Apple TV, Apple CEO Tim Cook recently said that the device will help form the “foundation of the future of TV.” Cook also added that the current cable TV experience is both “terrible” and “broken.”
Remember, rumor has it that Apple is also working hard to roll out its own TV subscription service via the Apple TV. Though initially planned for release in 2015, subsequent reports have indicated that the rollout of Apple’s new subscription service has been pushed back to 2016.
