You might think it’s strange for LG to announce an accessory for a device that’s not even official yet, but the South Korean did it. Again.

DON’T MISS: This unofficial Tesla commercial is jaw-dropping

In a press release titled “LG Electronics introduces touch-enabled Quick Phone Cover for highly anticipated LG G5,” the company announced on Wednesday its brand new accessory.

Apparently, LG wanted to answer the “age old question – what came first, the smartphone or the cover?” But it may have gotten it wrong. See, the smartphone came first as soon as creative engineers started adding computer features to dumb phones. Then, clumsy customers started dropping the expensive smartphones at alarming rates, so companies made cases and other protective devices to fix that.

Moving on, the new Quick Cover is similar to the previous models but has new features. The cover has a semi-transparent mesh cover that’s touch friendly and will let you answer calls, and control alarm settings without opening the case.

LG also decided to confirm some LG G5 features using really strange language. After confirming the always on display functionality on Facebook a few hours before announcing the cover, LG referred to it in the press release as a “rumored” feature.

“LG’s signature ‘second screen’ Always-on-Display, rumored to be a feature in the highly anticipated LG G5, allows users to check the time, date and notifications, all with the Quick Cover closed,” LG said.

LG also hinted that the G5 will have a metallic design, as the new Quick Cover includes a “unique film with a glossy metallic finish to enhance the smooth and luxurious look and feel of the cover.”

If you thought only Samsung gets crazy in its press announcement, then think again. LG does it too – see the full press release below.
