If you’re among the millions of people who recently took delivery of a new iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, odds are good that you’re enjoying your new handset so far. Apple’s latest and greatest iPhones improve upon the experience offered by their predecessors in every conceivable way. They’re the fastest and most powerful smartphones on the planet, the new displays are stunning, and even the battery life has been improved. That said, in the back of your mind you’re probably still thinking about next year’s new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, which are expected to introduce the brand new design that iPhone fans are waiting for. Despite all of their strengths, this year marks the third year in a row that Apple has recycled the same iPhone design.

iPhone 8 rumors have been coming in hot and heavy over the past few weeks, and now a new mockup shows off the iPhone 8 of your dreams.

DON’T MISS: These hidden iOS 10 features will change the way you use your iPhone

Designer Veniamin Geskin created some great looking iPhone 8 mockups that we saw featured in a video on Monday. Those mockups were based on rumors that next year’s iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will ditch the home button and integrate the Touch ID fingerprint scanner into the display itself. That display will then be able to occupy far more of the phone’s face, since Apple no longer needs space for a home button beneath it.

You can check out that video right here.

Following those mockups, Geskin decided to take things a step further. What would happen if Apple managed to build a new phone with a display that took up nearly the entire front of the handset? The result is the iPhone 8 of your dreams, as seen in the image at the top of this post, which was posted to Twitter on Tuesday morning by Geskin. The iPhone 8 design in this image is very similar to the iPhone 7, but the display has been enlarged to cover the entire front of the handset. Of note, the matte black and jet black finishes would be perfect for a device like this.

The good news is that some day, Apple will indeed make an iPhone with a display that covers almost the entire face of the handset. The bad news is that it’s not going to happen in 2017. The iPhone 8 is expected to feature a new OLED screen that is curved on the sides and that indeed occupies more of the phone’s face, but it won’t have 99% coverage like the iPhone concept seen in these images.
