Larger screened iPhones are great and all, but Apple, ever since the 2014 release of the iPhone 6, spent the last few years completely ignoring the 4-inch form factor. That being the case, the recent release of the iPhone SE — a compact device packed with Apple’s most advanced mobile technologies and hardware — has been a long time coming. And for many who have been eagerly and patiently awaiting a worthy successor to the iPhone 5s, the iPhone SE release was long overdue.

While it’s easy to ignore the iPhone SE as nothing more than a smaller version of the iPhone 6s, the iPhone SE is actually a standout device if you care about battery life. And truth be told, who doesn’t care about all-day battery life?

While we already knew that the iPhone SE came with impressive battery life — largely because it has the same battery as the iPhone 6s but has less pixels to push — a new and impressively in-depth review of the device from AnandTech reveals that the iPhone SE’s battery life is insanely good. I’ve personally been using an iPhone SE for the past three weeks and can attest that battery life on the device is a sight to behold.

My impressions aside, AnandTech has some cold hard data to back up such claims. For instance, when put through a web browsing test, battery life on the iPhone SE checks in at an impressive 9.27 hours, easily outclassing the iPhone 6s by nearly a full two hours.

And though not referenced in the chart below, previous battery tests from AnandTech found that the iPhone 6s Plus delivered 9.05 hours of battery life when browsing the web on Wi-Fi while the Samsung Galaxy S7 delivered 8.04 hours of battery life.

Also worth highlighting is that the iPhone SE, in addition to lasting for hours upon hours on a single charge, can charge from 0 to 100% capacity in 1.6 hours.

The iPhone SE may not offer an innovative new design or pack a large display, but if you’re looking for a powerful device that can last a whole day on a single charge, the iPhone SE is a better bet than any other iPhone currently out on the market.
