Flickr, an online photo sharing service used by more than 100 million unique users last year, who uploaded more than 10 billion photos in 2014, revealed camera rankings for the previous 12 months, The Next Web reveals, with Apple coming up as a big winner.

In a top 5 cameras used on Flickr last year, Apple ranks second with 9.6%, with Canon (13.4%) and Nikon (9.3%) taking first and third place. Samsung and Sony close the top, with 5.6% and 4.2%.
A year before, Apple was ranked third in the same top, with 7.7%, following Canon (13.0%) and Nikon (7.7%) and surpassing Sony (3.5%) and Samsung (2.4%).
Of all these companies, only Apple doesn’t make any camera-only products. Instead, the company has some of the best camera phones available in stores, the iPhones, with Apple improving the cameras of its smartphones each year.
When it comes to last year’s top 10 mobile cameras of 2014, Flickr data reveals that Apple devices were the major winners last year, with the company having seven iOS devices listed, including iPhones and iPads. Samsung and HTC complete the top 10, with two and one device, respectively.
