It looks like Apple Music has scored its first big exclusive. Legendary producer and performer Pharrell Williams announced on Wednesday that his new single “Freedom” will be available to stream on Apple Music starting on June 30th, which just happens to be the new service’s big launch day.

In addition to singing his own hits such as “Happy” and “Frontin’,” Pharrell has provided vocals for classic tunes such as Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Jay Z’s “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me).” And of course, as a member of the Neptunes, Pharrell produced a ton of other hits including Britney Spears’s “I’m a Slave 4 U,” Kelis’s “Milkshake,” and Justin Timberlake’s “Rock Your Body.” In other words, he’s a good person to have serve as a flagship artist for your new subscription-based music streaming service.
