Apple has already blown through the reveal of OS X El Capitan and iOS 9, but there’s still plenty to discuss before the WWDC 2015 keynote comes to a close. Just moments ago, Apple announced multitasking for the iPad, a feature that Apple’s tablet users have been requesting ever since the first iPad launched.

There are three key components to Multitasking:
- Slide Over: Swipe over from the side or down from the top of the screen to bring up a second app, without closing the app you’re currently running.
- Split View: Run two apps simultaneously. You’ll be able to split apps 50/50 or 70/30 on the iPad display.
- Picture in Picture: Scale a video down in size so you can keep watching a TV show while you reply to an email.
Split View will only be available on iPad Air 2 (and future tablets), but Slide Over and Picture in Picture will work on the Air, the mini 2, and newer devices.
