We’ve already seen great still pictures that show the iPhone’s evolution all the way from the original device in 2007 up to this year’s massive new iPhone 6 Plus. GadgetLove, however, has done something even cooler and has put together a fantastic GIF that slides through every major iPhone design iteration released so far, from the original iPhone to the iPhone 3G to the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5 and finally to the iPhone 6.

What’s fascinating here isn’t just the devices’ sizes, which obviously get bigger as the iPhone goes from having a 3.5-inch display to having a 4.7-inch display. You can also see how Apple has steadily worked to lessen the amount of space used at the bottom of the device around the home button and to slim the device’s side bezels to make more room for the display.
Another interesting aspect is how Apple has gone from having a device that has rounded edges to one that has much sharper edges and then, with the launch of the iPhone 6, back to the rounder edges. The sideway pictures in the GIF are also fascinating because they show how the iPhone is constantly getting slimmer even as its overall dimensions grow.
