The project has already passed its $50,000 funding goal by convincing 430 backers to pledge more than $150,000, with 26 days left in the campaign.
The iPhone- or Android-controlled Space Case 1 packs a fingerprint sensor, global GPS tracker, self-weighing scale, speakerphone and power bank. The luggage also complies with IATA and most airline regulation carry-on requirements, Planet Traveler says on the Kickstarter page.
The cheapest Space Case 1 costs $249 on Kickstarter (depending on size), and should ship anywhere in the world this November – the final price of the device should be $600 to $700 (depending on size), according to Planet Traveler.
