There aren’t as many compelling reasons to jailbreak iPhones and iPads as there used to be, not to mention the fact that certain malware apps can target jailbroken devices. But there are still plenty of jailbreak fans out there who are looking to run apps and enable features that wouldn’t otherwise be allowed. After a proof of concept iOS 9 jailbreak was demoed recently, the Pangu team of hackers has released its first public iOS 9 jailbreak that works on all existing iOS devices, including the brand new iPhone 6s.

The Pangu team released more details about the jailbreak, advising users to disable Find My iPhone and passcodes to make sure the procedure works. You’ll need a Windows PC to make it work, and the jailbreak works with any public version of iOS 9 released to date.

As always, BGR strongly advises against jailbreaking your iPhone, iPod or iPod touch, as there may be plenty of unwanted side effects, not to mention losing your warranty – you know, if you ever tell Apple about it when trying to fix a broken iOS device.

However, if you do plan to try out the Pangu iOS 9 untethered jailbreak yourself, make sure you back up your iPhone 6s before proceeding, and follow instructions closely. The Unlockr has a handy video showing the entire process:
