For the first time ever, Apple reportedly has not one but two brand new, completely redesigned iPhone 6 handsets in store for us this year (last year’s iPhone 5c was just an iPhone 5 in a new plastic case, of course). According to a new report, Apple launching two new iPhone models isn’t the only big change Apple is planning in 2014.

So far, we have seen two reports claim to peg the iPhone 6’s release date. The first came alongside word that Apple carrier partner Deutsche Telekom was having its call center staff contact some customers in an effort to get them ready to upgrade to the iPhone 6 once it is released, and they claimed that the phone will launch on September 19th.

Then, a subsequent report from Tencent also stated that Apple’s next-generation iPhone will hit store shelves on September 19th.

But according to a new report from China.com, Apple will change things up this year and launch its new smartphones on Thursday, September 25th.

The report claims that Apple will launch both the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and the 5.5-inch model on that date, and it suggests that the larger of the two phones will be named “iPhone Air.” That moniker is hardly confirmed, of course, but it’s safe to say that Apple will not simply call it the “iPhone 6,” as blogs have been referring to it.

Finally, the report claims that both new iPhone models will be unveiled by Apple on Monday, September 15th, which seems highly unlikely.

Apple’s next-generation iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone phablet are both expected to feature a sleek new design and similar specs, and they should help carry Apple through its biggest ever holiday quarter.
