We know that Apple is going to unveil its newest tablets on Thursday but that doesn’t mean you’ll necessarily be able to buy them right away. MacRumors‘ trusted sources say that Apple is planning to release at least one of its new devices on October 24th, less than a week after its official unveiling.

“With the exception of major new category products like the Apple Watch or those for which there are severe production constraints, Apple typically unveils a product and ships it within a short period of time if not on the same day,” MacRumors notes. “Last year, Apple announced the iPad Air and Retina iPad mini on October 22 and launched the iPad Air on November 1, with the Retina iPad mini landing a few weeks later due to short supplies.”
Based on earlier leaks, we believe the new iPad Air will be the first iPad to feature 2GB of RAM and will also be the first iPad to incorporate the Touch ID fingerprint scanner that Apple has used on its iPhones ever since the iPhone 5s. The tablet is also expected to use the same A8 processor found in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
