Apple’s iPhone lineup has always been among the best in the business when it comes to photography. Case in point: look at how amazing the photos that won this year’s iPhone photography awards were. Low-light photography is still an issue for every camera of course, but there are some ways to ensure that your iPhone photos come out as clear and flattering as possible even in a dark room.

Simply enabling the iPhone’s flash isn’t enough. It will obviously help illuminate your subject, of course, but it still doesn’t fare as well as top camera phones or dedicated point and shoot cameras. Thankfully, there are some tricks you can use to take better photos in very dark environments.

Huffington Post put together a quick guide that involves using a ridiculously simple trick many people probably wouldn’t have thought of: Get a friend to help you by using his or her smartphone as an external light source.

HuffPo’s guide is linked below in our source section, and those looking to use a similar method but get even better results should check out the new wireless iPhone camera flash we covered recently.
