In addition to releasing a new Google Maps version for Android, Google has also upgraded its iOS mapping application, bringing iPhone users a feature that was previously available only on Android.
DON’T MISS: It’s Time to Rain On Apple’s Parade
Released in early June, a Google Maps update for Android included a useful new feature for navigating a city using the public transportation system – real-time transit data updates.
Google has been quick to bring the feature over to iOS in a new Google Maps 4.8.0 update already available for download from the App Store.
Other new features include more maps sharing options (Facebook and Facebook Messenger) and an Image Gallery mode that offers a grid view for a “quick visual understanding of a place.”
Here’s the full change log for version 4.8.0:
- Redesigned and improved Transit directions improve the experience in cities, giving you more route choice and real-time arrival information where available
- Additional app options for sharing a place (including Facebook and Facebook Messenger)
- Introduced an Image Gallery for a quick visual understanding of a place through a grid view
- Bug fixes
The update is available as a free download right away – you can grab the Google Maps for iOS app in case you don’t have it installed yet by following this link.
