We’re just a few days out from the premiere of the fifth season of Game of Thrones on HBO, but before long, the fantasy epic might not be the only show on our television screens with the name George R.R. Martin attached to it. On Friday, Entertainment Weekly revealed that Martin and HBO are currently working to bring a new series called Captain Cosmos to the network.

Here’s the pitch, according to EW: “At the dawn of the age of TV in 1949, a visionary young writer creates a science fiction series that tells stories no one else will dare to tell.”
The pilot is being written by Michael Cassutt, who has worked on The Twilight Zone, Max Headroom, The Outer Limits and more. Martin says that this won’t take up much of his time, so if you’re anxiously awaiting “The Winds of Winter,” don’t expect this to cause any further delays. Speaking of which, have you read the Winds of Winter chapter that Martin released this week?
In the interview with EW, Martin discussed the extensive gap between releases:
“I wish it was out now. Maybe I’m being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I’m turning down a lot more interviews—anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done.”
Game of Thrones season 5 premieres on HBO on Sunday, April 12th at 9 p.m. ET.
