One of the most nerve-wracking parts of a flight for many people is takeoff. Once the plane is at cruising altitude, everything’s all right, but until then, you’re completely off-balance and you can’t even open your laptop to distract you from the fact that you’re floating five miles above the planet’s surface in a metal tube.
Sure, it only takes a few minutes, but as you’re about to see, there are jets out there that can do it a lot faster.
DON’T MISS: 7 scary airplane landings caught on video
According to the description, the video below was filmed from inside the cockpit of a Pakistan Air Force F-16 BM Block 15 aircraft. Within 45 seconds, the fighter jet is able begin moving down the runway, take off and reach a height of 15,000 feet — just above cloud level. What’s even more impressive is that the actual flight time only amounts to 20 seconds.
We’ve talked about the F-16 in the past, but it really needs to be seen to be believed.
