Smartphones typically aren’t the focus of CES, but every year the underdogs of the industry attempt to lure in new consumers with flashy and unique devices that break the mold in various ways. This year, we’ve decided to sort through the list to find five of the most interesting phones on display at CES 2015.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, most of the phones unveiled could be considered phablets, with displays stretching between 5-6 inches. Following the success of the Galaxy Note series and the recently released iPhone 6 Plus, it’s clear that consumers are comfortable with larger devices. So let’s take a look at a few of them.
Archos 50 Diamond
Archos, historically known for releasing high-end digital audio players and portable video players in an age before tablets and smartphones reigned supreme, has recently entered the mobile market. The latest device from Archos is the 50 Diamond, a mid-range phone with a nice design and a low price.
ZTE Grand X Max+
The biggest name in the smartphone industry at the moment is ZTE. China’s ZTE saw its profits soar in 2014, and wants to start 2015 off right with the Grand X Max+, a 6-inch phone that it believes can rival some of the top flagships from other vendors.
Asus ZenFone 2
Many of the phones on this list don’t have the specifications to compete with the top phones from Apple or Samsung, but the Asus ZenFone 2 is another story entirely. With 4GB of RAM, the latest ZenFone is probably on par with your laptop.
Lenovo P90
The key for a company not known for smartphones to make an impact in the smartphone market is to do something that’s never been done before. That’s exactly what Lenovo is doing with the P90, the first phone to contain Intel’s new 64-bit Atom processor. It’s 4000 mAh battery is also expected to last at least two days on a single charge.
LG G Flex 2
And we couldn’t have a list of interesting phones without throwing in LG’s latest experiment. Yes, the G Flex 2 is curved, just like its predecessor, but the specs are on par with the flagship G3 and the curve is said to be less pronounced this time around. Has LG given consumers a reason to consider what we all thought was a gimmick?
