But the nation’s retails stores don’t seem to have got the memo, as we’ve seen some of the headline deals announced already. In some cases, you can actually take advantage of the deals weeks in advance.
So, since Black Friday seems to have turned into a month-long ceremony of consumerism worship, we might as well take advantage and highlight some of the best deals we’ve seen so far.

$250 Xbox One S with Battlefield 1
Weirdly, one of the best deals on Microsoft’s gaming consoles is going to come from Dell, a company that notably doesn’t make gaming consoles. But that hasn’t stopped it from offering a bundle that includes a 500GB Xbox One S, extra wireless controller, and Battlefield 1 for way less than the usual RRP for an Xbox bundle. If you’ve been thinking about making the jump to a console, this sale drops the Xbox dangerously towards impulse-buy territory.
Windows 10 Laptop for $99
The Dell Inspiron 11 3000 is not a laptop that you can describe as “fast” or “powerful” or “sleek” or really anything good. But it does run Windows 10, it will work for web browsing, and it costs about the same as you’d spend on a nice dinner for two. If you were thinking about buying a Chromebook but you’re hesitant about giving up Office, this could definitely be worth a look.
$250 49-inch 4K TV
Haier makes TVs that are famously cheaper than you’d think, even if the screen quality can be a little off at times. But if you’re not too fussy about the picture, it’s difficult to argue with a 49-inch 4K TV for $250. If that’s not up your street, Kohl’s is also selling a 55-inch LG 4K TV for $500.
$700 55-inch Samsung curved 4K Smart TV
For the usual RRP of $1,200, Samsung has to work hard to persuade you that all the curved pixels in its 4K smart TV are worth it. But when you’re only spending $700, you’ll have a much easier time persuading yourself that Samsung is onto something here. Available from BJ’s Wholesale, whose stores are opening at 7.00 AM on Black Friday. Don’t plan on sleeping in!
$200 GoPro Hero4 Silver with accessories
GoPro recently launched its line of fifth-gen cameras, which add a couple new features to the longtime standouts. But if you’re not too concerned with marginally better image quality, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with this year’s Hero4 Silver. It can still shoot whatever you want, wherever you want in full 1080p. There’s even a little screen on the back to frame shots, a feature missing on the more expensive Hero4 Black. This bundle also comes with a spare battery and an SD card, so you’ll be ready to go from the outset.
