Apple’s new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Plus might look the same as last year’s models, but there are tons of changes behind the scenes. In fact, in our in-depth iPhone 6s review, we said that this year’s iPhone upgrade is Apple’s biggest iPhone upgrade ever compared to the prior year, which is pretty crazy considering 2015 is an “S” year. The iPhone 6s is faster than its predecessor, it has a much better camera, it’s packed full of new features, and it’s stronger as well thanks to new 7000 Series aluminum and a stronger glass display cover.
Despite all those changes — and despite the fact that this year’s iPhone models are each about 2mm thicker than last year’s models — the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus can still use the same cases as their predecessors, which means many fans won’t need to buy a new case. Of course, it might not be a bad idea to toss a fresh new case on your fresh new iPhone, so we’ve compiled a list of the 10 hottest iPhone 6s and (iPhone 6s Plus) cases we’ve found so far.
Of note, there are several cases on this list that have never been seen before on BGR.
MUST SEE: Apple might owe you money if you upgraded to the iPhone 6s – here’s how to collect
Truffol Aluminum Bumper
This is still one of my all-time favorites, and it’s dirt cheap at $12.99 with free shipping on Amazon. This bumper obviously doesn’t provide as much protection as a full case would, but it looks great, it doesn’t add any thickness to the phone, and the fit is perfect.
Truffol Aluminum Bumper for iPhone 6 – $12.99
Truffol Aluminum Bumper for iPhone 6 Plus – $12.99
Vaja Leather Back
The Vaja leather back is another one of my all-time favorites. It also provides practically no protection whatsoever for your iPhone. Why is is still a great option? The key here is that the iPhone 6 is so prone to drops because the aluminum is ridiculously slippery. This stick-on leather back provides fantastic grip without ruining the look of the phone. In fact, some might say it enhances the look of the phone.
If you don’t like using a case that hides the look of you iPhone and adds unwanted thickness, this is a fantastic option.
Vaja Leather Back for iPhone 6 — $40
Vaja Leather Back for iPhone 6 Plus — $45
FUZ Soft Case
This is the first time the FUZ Soft Case has appeared here on BGR, but it won’t be the last. The Soft Case is made out of a great soft-touch rubbery material that feels a lot like the material Apple uses for its iPad Smart Covers. It comes in three different colors, and it provides great grip.
FUZ Soft Case — $29.99 – $34.99
Leather Wallet Case by Mujjo
Mujjo’s wallet cases are easily among the most beautiful leather iPhone cases in the world, hands down. They’re a bit pricey but they’re worth every penny, and they come in black, gray and our favorite, tan.
Mujjo Wallet Case — approx. $38
Vesel Wood Bumper
Those willing to spend a little extra cash for high-quality materials (and to have a unique case that no one else around them has) should definitely check out this aluminum and wood bumper from Vesel. We’ve tested it ourselves and can attest to the company’s terrific work here. The design is outstanding, the attention to detail is clear, and the gray and walnut combo pictured above is gorgeous. For nearly $150 though, it’ll be a tough sell for most users.
Vesel Wood Bumper — approx. $148
Just Mobile Self-Healing Clear Case
We covered this iPhone case earlier this week, and our coverage still has the Internet buzzing. Available in three colors for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, Just Mobile’s new case has a special coating that heals itself from scratches. You can see a video of it in action here.
iPhone 6/6s Tenc Case, Clear: $24.95 with free Prime shipping
iPhone 6/6s Tenc Case, Black: $24.95 with free Prime shipping
iPhone 6 Plus/6s Plus Tenc Case, Clear: $29.95 with free Prime shipping
iPhone 6 Plus/6s Plus Tenc Case, White: $29.95 with free Prime shipping
Rhinoshield Crash Guard
Here’s one last bumper option for you, but Rhinoshield’s is different from the rest. It’s made of plastic instead of fancier materials like metal and wood, but it provides incredible protection that will help your iPhone survive a 30-foot drop, let alone a standard tumble of a few feet.
Rhinoshield Crash Guard — $24.99
Invellop Thin Fit Case
Not everyone wants to spend a lot of money on an iPhone case, and that’s certainly understandable. For those looking for an insanely thin case that looks great and is very inexpensive. The Invellop Thin Fit case could be just what the doctor ordered. It’s under $4!
Invellop Thin Fit iPhone 6 case — $3.95
Grovemade Walnut and Leather iPhone Case
We’re not big fans of wallet cases but if you’re going to get one, this is the one to get. It features real wood and leather, it’s handmade and the craftsmanship is second to none.
Grovemade Walnut and Leather iPhone Case — $129
Leather and Silicone cases by Apple
Last but certainly not least, Apple’s own leather and silicone cases for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are terrific. They look great, the fit is perfect, and the quality is as consistent as it gets.
