At the risk of repeating myself for the hundredth time, I hate iPhone cases. Covering up that sleek design and premium aluminum seems like a crime against good taste. Sadly, however, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have the most slippery finish known to man, and they’re both accidents waiting to happen. Because of this, people who want to avoid imminent disaster have no choice but to cover their phones with cases.
Of course, you can still do it with some style by picking the right cases made out of premium materials, and that’s where BGR comes in.
I have spent an inappropriate amount of time scouring the furthest corners of the Internet in search of sleek and stylish iPhone cases that protect your phone without making it look awful. After all, nothing is worse than covering up a $650+ smartphone with $0.75 worth of plastic.
So far, my quest has been quite successful. I’ve shown you 3 stunning iPhone 6 cases that are perfect for people who hate iPhone cases, some beautiful iPhone 6 cases you’ve never heard of, 10 cases that will protect your iPhone 6 without ruining Apple’s gorgeous design, and an impossibly thin iPhone 6 case is just $15 on Amazon.
Now, I’m back to highlight one case in particular that has really blown me away.
I have two main problems with iPhone cases. The first is that they make the phone thicker and the second is that they make the phone look uglier. It stands to reason, then, that my ideal iPhone 6 case would avoid doing either of those things.
Such is the case with Truffol’s Air Classic Metal Aluminum Bumper Case for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
This case is machine-milled from aluminum and it comes in five different colors including space gray, gold and silver to match the iPhone’s colors. It’s feather light at just 8 grams, and it doesn’t make the iPhone feel any thicker in your hand because it only wraps around the edges of the device.
And best of all, perhaps, is the fact that it’s very affordable.
This particular Truffol bumper comes with a stick-on leather wallet back for $24.99 that barely adds any thickness and includes two card slots. I tried it and liked it, but opted instead to just use the bumper on its own. This way the edges of my iPhone 6 are protected and there’s added grip, but it’s still sleek and thin in my hand.
UPDATE: The stand-alone Truffol bumper initially linked in this post alongside the two links above is not the same as the one pictured in these photos. Truffol does not sell the model pictured here without the accompanying wallet back.
