In less than two weeks, The Walking Dead will return to AMC for its seventh season. The show still has an enormous viewership, but the premiere of season 7 might draw even more attention than usual, as fans are desperate to know who the new villain Negan killed in the final moments of season 6.

Although the cast and crew are (understandably) remaining somewhat tight-lipped about what exactly will happen in the first episode of the new season, AMC this week did unveil the title and synopsis for the episode.
According to AMC’s website, the first episode of season 7 will be called “The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be.” This is the synopsis of the episode:
“Last season ended with Rick and our group kneeling helplessly before Negan and his group. What Negan does will haunt those who survive forever.”
Not a very detailed description, but Jefferey Dean Morgan, the actor who plays Negan, was able to shed some light on the haunting actions of Negan in a recent interview:
“You won’t be able to see Negan without thinking of the premiere episode. What he does is so strong and so shocking. The way Negan inflicts damage is so original to Negan, that whenever he comes on screen you will not know what to expect.”
Although the revelation at the beginning of the episode is sure to shock long-time fans, it sounds like Negan will have a permanent effect on the show.
