AMC trolled The Walking Dead fans twice during season 6 when it comes to the death of a major character. It staged its own Jon Snow moment early in the season, with Glenn surviving what looked like certain death. Then, during the season finale, it toyed with our hearts by choosing not to disclose who Negan killed with his trusted bat Lucille.
With a few months to go until Season 7’s premiere will solve that mystery, there’s new evidence to suggest we might already know whom Negan killed. And it’s not the person you expect it to be… but it’s still very bad news. Beware, though, spoilers follow.

Fans of the comics knew that Glenn was not going to die at any point during season 6 because he dies at the hand of Negan. It’s Glenn who should be bludgeoned to death with that bat, according to the comics.
But TV Guide tells us that might not be the case. Instead of Glenn, Maggie might end up being Negan’s first victim from Rick’s crew.
Apparently, Lauren Cohan, the actress who plays Maggie on the show, has been posting content on her social media account from locations different from the ones where the current season is filming. She supposedly posted an image on Instagram from the beach in May at a time the show was filming. And her Walking Dead content is pretty light on social media these days.
There’s always a chance that she posted that image deliberately to deceive fans, or that she was on vacation. But then again, she was only spotted on set once during filming for Season 7, according to Spoil the Dead. And she doesn’t seem to be anywhere near the Georgia set, TV Guide says. AMC shot death scenes for all the characters just to make sure the real one doesn’t leak, but it seems that Cohan has not been seen on the set since that point in time.
If this kind of detective work sounds familiar, that’s because last year Game of Thrones fans figured out Jon Snow was still alive using similar tactics. He was spotted on the set of the show sporting a different attire than what you’d expect from the character.
That said, seeing Maggie die would be massive blow for fans, but it would probably a wiser choice than killing Glenn. As much as I’d hate to admit it, a Negan ready to kill a pregnant woman would paint him both as a very cruel and a very cerebral villain. It would completely change Glenn, of course.
