On Friday morning, AT&T announced that it would hold a DirecTV Now event in New York City on November 28th. According to the invitation, the event will be “invitation-only” and will “celebrate the launch of DirecTV Now.”

The live streaming TV service was originally unveiled by AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson in October. At the time, Stephenson said that the service would start at $35 and would include over 100 channels. Premium channels such as HBO, Showtime and Starz will also be available for an additional monthly fee.
While DirecTV Now provides significantly more content for a much lower price than most other over-the-top services, there are some notable restrictions, such as the limitation to a single stream per account. In other words, while you can share your Netflix account with friends and family, DirecTV Now will be yours alone.
Although the price is going to be the main draw of the service, Variety reported earlier this month that AT&T is planning to offer additional incentives as well, such as a free Amazon Fire TV Stick for customers who sign up for one month, and a free Apple TV for customers who commit to three months of DirecTV Now.
The same documents Variety discovered also revealed that many of the networks on DirecTV Now will support a 72-hour “catch-up window” that will allow subscribers to watch previously-aired programs from the past three days.
We’re not sure whether or not AT&T will actually launch the service on the day of the event, but we should at least learn all of the details that have yet to be officially announced. Check out the invite (via The Verge) below:
