It turns out the rumors were partially true — Samsung is going to bundle the Galaxy Note 7 with a couple of exciting products, assuming you act fast and preorder yours as soon as possible. And Best Buy may be in a unique position to make bundles even more enticing than other retailers.
The Galaxy Note 7 will be available for preorder from a variety of retailers and carriers beginning on August 3rd, and will then be available to purchase in stores on August 19th. Amazon, Best Buy, Car Toys, Sam’s Club, Target and select Walmart stores will sell the phone, as will AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular and Verizon Wireless.
Best Buy’s Galaxy Note 7 preorder deal will include either a free Gear Fit2 wearable (but not a new Gear VR headset) or a free Samsung 256GB memory card along with the purchase of a Galaxy Note 7 from a store, while supply lasts.
Those deals are available across the board from all retailers, but here’s where things get interesting: Best Buy’s told BGR it would be “the only place” where customers will walk out with Samsung’s free item on launch day, implying that other retailers might ship your free wearable or microSD card only after the Galaxy Note 7 reaches you, once it’s in stock.
Interestingly, if you don’t want to buy the Galaxy Note 7 now that you’ve seen it and you’d rather stick with a Galaxy S7 edge instead, you’re still going to be able to take advantage of the promotion. Samsung’s bundle deal also covers the Galaxy S7 edge, and you can get the free perk with either phone.
Finally, Samsung also said that customers who sign up for Samsung Pay and make their first purchase they will qualify to $20 in rewards. That’s if you need more reasons to buy the Galaxy Note 7 or Galaxy S7 edge this month.
