If all goes according to plan, we’re currently about a month and a week away from seeing Apple’s next-generation iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus get official. A recent report from a reputable source has pegged September 16th as Apple’s release date for the new iPhone 7 models, which means an announcement will likely come on the Tuesday or Wednesday prior to that date. Monday September 5th is Labor Day, so Apple certainly isn’t going to host a press conference on the 5th. That means that we can expect to see the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus become a reality on either Tuesday September 6th, or Wednesday September 7th.
Of course, you don’t have to wait that long at all to get up close and personal with Apple’s upcoming new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

On Tuesday we showed you a high-quality video that gave the world its best look yet at a mockup of Apple’s upcoming new iPhone 7. As a refresher, Chinese companies use leaked iPhone schematics to build models of unreleased iPhones. Then, the resulting models let third-party accessory makers design things like protective cases and other accessories that will fit the new iPhones and be ready right when Apple’s new handsets launch.
Of course, those models also give Apple fans a taste of things to come.
Tuesday’s video gave us a great up-close look at the 4.7-inch iPhone 7, but now two new videos have popped up on YouTube that are even better. That’s right, someone in the Far East has begun selling these iPhone 7 models to people outside the country, so you can expect to see plenty of high-quality hands-on videos to pop up in the coming weeks.
The first video comes from YouTuber Austin Evans, who spent about three minutes comparing a gold iPhone 7 model to a current-generation iPhone 6s, and speculating on some of the changes rumored to be coming to Apple’s 2016 iPhone models.
Here is Evans’s hands-on video:
Next up, we have a very similar video from YouTuber Jonathan Morrison, who also managed to get his hands on a 4.7-inch iPhone 7 mockup. Here’s his take:
Where the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 mockup goes, the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus/Pro model is sure to follow, so we can undoubtedly expect to see some up-close-and-personal videos with Apple’s next-generation phablet in the coming days and weeks.
