The eighth episode in the Star Wars saga will hit theaters a few days before Christmas 2017, so it’s far too early to see any trailers for the hotly anticipated movie. But details about the opening scene have already been confirmed by none other than Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in the new movie.

According to SlashFilm, Daisy Ridley stopped for a quick interview with MTV on the red carpet at Oscars on Sunday night, which is where she talked about the current Star Wars production.
And speaking of the Oscars, here’s a complete list of all the winners and losers, while Chris Rock’s hilarious 10-minute opening monologue is can be seen right here.
Back to Ridley, she mentioned the ending of Star Wars: The Force Awakens during her interview, explaining that Episode VIII will resume from that very moment, which might be a pivotal event for the new trilogy.
“Me and Mark [Hamill] have been rehearsing a lot, and it’s really amazing. When we went back to Skellig to do the opening of VIII, it was so crazy doing the same scene with a different crew of people,” she said. “He’s amazing to rehearse with, and I’m very excited to be doing the rest of the stuff.”
SPOILER ALERT!
The Force Awakens ends with Rey handing Luke his Jedi lightsaber after finding old Skywalker on a deserted planet. Luke doesn’t seem to be surprised by Rey’s appearance, and there are theories suggesting there’s a family connection between the two.
Ridley did not reveal any critical details about the plot of the new movie, but she did say Hamill will appear in a lot more scenes. In The Force Awakens, Luke only showed up at the end of the movie, after being the target of an intergalactic manhunt.
“It’s such a good story. Seriously. Luke is so cool in this one. Really,” Ridley said of Episode VIII.
