Finding and discovering movies and TV series on Netflix might be an annoying chore for some people. There are many tricks to customize the way you watch Netflix, such as using multiple profiles at the same time or figuring out the right codes for certain movie genres. Simply searching for movies inside Netflix might not always be a great experience, though. In fact, it’s probably the worst thing about Netflix.
Good news, Netflix subscribers: There’s a new free web app that aims to fix Netflix’s search – meet Flixed.
Flixed is a region-free universal search engine just for Netflix, The Next Web reports, that will tell you whether the title you’ve been searching for is available in your region. As you probably know, Netflix announced at CES that its streaming service will be available in some 130 additional countries. But not all regional experiences are supposed to be alike, with the U.S. having access to the biggest movie and TV show collection.
Currently in beta, Flixed offers you even better results for Netflix’s catalog, which will be even more useful than the site’s region-based features for many users. The results include integrated IMDB ratings and Metacritic scores, which should help you better determine whether a movie is worth watching.
Flixed also offers category pages, including Most Popular and New Arrivals, and it shows trailers for the movies you’re searching for. Once you’ve determined what you want to watch next, you can just click “Watch Now” to start the show in Netflix.
