A seemingly unremarkable photo of an Apple Watch taken from an Apple support page is making the rounds today. It would appear that Apple, in a subtle attempt to have some fun with users, uploaded a Rick Astley themed photo to the “Add a friend” section on its Apple Watch support page.

If you look closely, you might notice that the initials of the friends Apple has listed in the ‘Add Friend’ mockup screen below, when put together, spell out ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’, an overt reference to Rick Astley’s 1987 hit of the same name. Astley’s song, somewhat bizarrely, began taking on a life of its own in the the mid-late 2000s as an Internet meme where an ostensibly intriguing link would, in fact, direct users to Astley’s video instead.

Nicely done Apple, nicely done. All in all, it’s nice to see Apple loosen up every once and a while and, dare I say, exhibit some of that lighthearted humor that Google seems to have in spades.
