A newly leaked set of images supposedly showing the iPhone 6 next to the existing iPhone 5, reveals – yet again – the huge design differences between Apple’s upcoming smartphone and the 2012 version. Gizmobic has obtained a large collection of images of the two devices, showing the iPhone 6 mockup and the iPhone 5 from all angles.
The iPhone 6 model – which likely isn’t a functional iPhone 6 – has the same design elements shown in previous picture leaks, including a thinner profile, redesigned camera flash, volume buttons, antennas and speaker grill, relocated sleep button, and rounder edges and corners. As it can be easily seen in these images, the iPhone 6 units is much thinner than the iPhone 5, but also slightly longer and wider, suggesting this is a 4.7-inch unit.
A protruding rear camera is also shown in these images, in line with what recent leaks have claimed – the iPhone 6 is expected to be 7mm slim, and pack a protruding camera ring that’s less than 1mm thick.
Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6 during a special media event that’s scheduled for September 9, although official invitations have not gone out yet, and launch at least the 4.7-inch version in the weeks following the announcement.
