Fire extinguished at Foxconn factory; production unaffected [video]

Business

A Foxconn factory in Shadong, China caught fire on Tuesday but the blaze was quickly extinguished, Reuters reported. Foxconn said there will not be an impact on production and there were no worker casualties. An explosion caused damage at a Foxconn factory in Chengdu, China in May, and resulted in three Foxconn worker deaths, 15 injuries and a slowdown in Apple iPad production. That tragedy also caused a 2.14% monthly revenue dip, or about US$6.95 billion in lost revenue. A Foxconn spokesperson told Reuters that Tuesday’s fire was caused by electrical cables on the factory roof and noted that the damages will be covered by insurance. A video of the fire follows after the break.

        It’s true!

How many people now died at Foxconn?  This is for sure the 3rd explosion I can remember being reported this year there.

On the bright side they (Apple and Foxconn) are making record profits right?

my comment was waiting for approval (b/c someone fears i’m bashing them) so i’m writing another one…. one non-sympathetic mention of effected families, but plenty of mention of the impact to production and iPad (rollz eyez)

Latest breaking news being reported. The sgs II line is at fault for the fire. Reports are saying a pallet of the phones overheated. Speculation is a bunch of the phones batteries exploded. Makes sense. The sgs II has a well known battery defect. Well done Shamsung.  true story™©®
